The CK-6 plus is a multi-purpose mic: sensitive enough for use on vocal tracks and acoustic instruments, and strong enough to handle high volume amplified instruments (like an electric guitar cabinet). A -10dB attenuation switch can be engaged when miking very high SPL sources to keep from overloading the electronics. Avantone’s “Plus” package CK-6 features a slight larger 32-millimeter diaphragm, that adds some low end, to an already pleasing bass response. The CK-6+ also comes accessorized with a protective foam bedded protective steel mic box, that fits inside a wooden storage/transport box with the Retro Shock Mount.
