The AEG, a compact body acoustic-electric guitar with a slim neck, has been popular for its easy playability for more than two decades. Ibanez has renewed the AEG Series with updated electronics and looks. The changes were based on the concept of simple and easy control. The AEG70 starts with an Ibanez AEQ-TTS preamp. Small and simple, it features only two control knobs: volume and shape. This at-a-glance tone control offers natural acoustic sound in the center position. It allows players to adjust the tone easily and enables them to go from low, fat and powerful tones to a bright and cutting sound while adjusting only one knob. An easy-to-read onboard LCD tuner is located on the preamp. The AEG70 comes with a simplified abalone rosette, binding and ornamentation on the headstock. These finer details add a sharp and stylish atmosphere to the guitar. Other features include a flamed maple top, sapele back and sides, an Ibanez T-bar II undersaddle pickup which equalizes the volume from each string and delivers a well-balanced signal, and special bulb-shaped Ibanez Advantage Bridge pins for easy string installation. The newly designed scalloped bridge improves the efficiency of the top board vibrations, which contributes to a louder sound. The scalloped bridge offers more flexibility for the guitar's setup.
